Building And Launching A Community Hub Advancing Global Justice and Solidarity

The Global Solidarity Hub is a critical space to come together and collaborate with those committed to creating new approaches to overcoming global inequalities.

Why The Global Solidarity Hub chose to collaborate with FairForce

Sophie reached out to FairForce to learn more about how to get started with the process of building a community. She was very aware of the change she wanted to make and what she wanted to offer by building this space. However, she wasn’t clear about the steps to take to go from the idea to the execution of the community-building process.

FairForce helped The Global Solidarity Hub with a 6 session coaching program

Together, we worked on every step of the community building experience.
We started from building more clarity around the strategy by identifying the vision, the mission, the purpose statement and the goals of the community.

When this became clearer, we went through more technical and organizational details such as figuring out which platforms were the most suitable for Sophie to engage with her community and best support her mission.

We looked into her communication and content strategies. We designed the communication and engagement experience covering many different areas such as the topics, tone of voice, the format of every interaction and the frequency of interactions.

We defined the community engagement experience, outlining key activities and outputs for the members to get a real chance to be involved. We worked on the name, community guidelines, website content, first blog posts and all the possible touchpoints for the community members to interact with each other and the core of the community activities.

This is how The Global Solidarity Hub took form, going from being an idea to a vibrant project making a real difference in the world by bringing people together for global justice.

The outcome of our work together

Sophie and I were able to figure out every detail of the community purpose and activities. We worked on a sustainability model to make sure that this work could keep bringing joy and creativity to Sophie (avoiding burnout or stress) and high value to the community members.

Sophie started a newsletter, a blog, an interview series with relevant members from the development aid space and an Instagram account to post updates and insights from a new way to lead the work in this space.

“Margherita has a deeply political understanding of impact, which means she helps build communities that empower people and put them at the center of change.”
